We’re back with Episode 3! This week we’re talking about Stellar Corpses brand new album called Dead Stars Drive-in and a good, old-fashioned, wholesome, lesbian vampire film: The Blood Spattered Bride from 1972… loosely based on Sheridan Le Fanu’s novella Carmilla. Just for a little incentive to listen to this episode and watch this film… Hammer’s The Vampire Lovers was also based on this novella. Can you say Ingrid Pitt? mmmm…

Friday Night Frights! Don’t open till Christmas

Well folks, we’ve all been given a big lump of coal today. it seems the Cadaverlab is closing its doors. So I’m not going to spend any time telling about tonight’s little slasher. If you want to know more about it, just check out the latest Hammicus podcast.
I would like to to take a few lines to thank Mike and Sam for all of the great entertainment they have given us. Cadaverlab was one of the first horror podcasts I listened to it is one of the even fewer I would download and listen to even if I wasn’t interested in the covered movies. It was an honor for me to be part of the show during Sam’s first hiatus and doing Friday Night Frights has been a lot of fun.
Mike and I have messaged back and forth several times and he has been very kind and generous to me. Beyond that, however, I’ve never met him or Sam, but the show felt like getting together with a couple friends and just shooting the shit about movies for a couple hours a week. For someone like me who doesn’t really have friends like that, it was a very nice experience that I will miss greatly.
So, goodbye Cadaverlab and best of luck Mike and Sam with your lives and with any other projects you may get involved.in. Because of your efforts with Cadaverlab, I’ve had several hours of entertainment at times when i really needed it, more laughs than I can count, exposure to movies I might not have heard of and I’ve gotten to talk with a great bunch of folks on the forum and the facebook page. Thank you both very much for all you’ve done. I think I can safely speak for all of the labiens when I say that you will be missed.
Now, lets go watch Santa get his peener cut off and have some grapefruit juice. Oh, don’t forget to catch Mike in his next project. He is reprising his role as the main character’s dad in the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs sequel.

Friday Night Frights! The Snow Creature
December 9th, 2011 - 0 Comment(s)

It is more winter wonderland horror this week on Friday Night Frights. That isn’t Jack Frost nipping at your nose kids, its a hung Yeti. Yes, another one. This time around an American botanical expedition to the Himalayas discovers a group of the Wampa Wannabees and manages to capture a healthy male specimen and bring it back to the states. Of course, it breaks free and lopes off on a reign of terror. Is it man or monster? Do you care?. Either way, grab some nice spiked Eggnog and drink until it gets entertaining.
DISCLAIMER
The above introduction is for entertainment purposes only. Friday Night Frights and it’s host Cadaverlab are not responsible for any liver damage or alcohol poisoning that may result from attempting to drink enough to make The Snow Creature entertaining. This is an act that is considered by the leading minds of science, philosophy and theology, to be patently impossible. So, don’t actually to do it. It will never work and you’ll probably just die in a pool of your own vomit.

Friday Night Frights! - Snowbeast

Welcome back Friday Night Frights fans, I hope both of you had a nice Thanksgiving. Now that we are officially two days into December, it is finally starting to feel like winter. We don’t get much snow down here in the public domain vaults, but the musty air seems a wee bit chillier than usual.
Tonight I bring you a movie about a ski resort filled with people that are about to celebrate winter in their own way, with a lovely winter carnival that is sure to brighten spirits and bring in those holly-jolly tourist dollars. Unfortunately for them, but pretty good for us, there is something else out on the slopes looking for a good time this year. Imagine the Bumble from the Rudolph cartoon, but instead of helping to hang a star on the highest part of the tree, it is more likely to eat your face.
With concerned experts trying to warm people and money-hungry officials not wanting to lose revenue by closing the place down, this made for TV movie is pretty much Jaws on a ski slope, but I enjoyed it…or at least that is what I’m telling you.
Friday Night Frights - House on Haunted Hill

You’ve been invited to a party, a haunted house party. It seems that if you can survive a night in the House on Haunted Hill, Vincent Price will pay you 10,000.
That is correct horror fans, our mini Vincent Price festival rolls to a thrilling conclusion with one of my favorite Price public domain movies. House on Haunted Hill was a staple of late-night horror shows when I was a kid and I remember being really scared by the sound effects over the black screen at the beginning.
I seriously doubt that any of of will still be scared by this movie now, but it still a lot of fun and Price is terrific as always.
